Koppert Cress BV started on July 1, 2002 in the Netherlands, after the company was purchased by Rob Baan. In 1993 and 2001 the company received the prestigious AGF innovation award. This award, only handed out once every second year, was the right stimulant to continue with further developments. The company grew further and further and is now one of the leading horticultural companies in the world. We proudly launched our first franchise in the USA in New York State in October 2006. Our Greenhouses are located on Long Island. This strategical positioning will garantee the most effective logistic and fresh supply over the USA. To maintain a sharp cost price, major investments in automation and modernisation took place over the years. At present we are still improving our growing medium, developing our own new products. We are also innovating the packaging and building close relationships with our end-customers. The end-customers, the better cooks and chefs of the restaurants are the critical success factor of our company. Our business emphasizes good partnership with the fruits and vegetables wholesalers. They order the fresh micro-vegetables, which they can receive daily all over the US. For us the product disappears in a maze of hi-tech distribution, that can bring the product to Alaska or even to Hawaii. Our distributors provide Restaurants, Hotels, Caterers, Gourmet Markets and the various small fresh markets all over the world. We aim at the Chef in his kitchen who wants a year-round supply of clean, fresh, good-looking, tasty products, in order to create his master dish. We like to challenge these people not only to use our product as decoration, but also to actually cook with it. One will be surprised how many tastes there are in such small micro vegetables. |
