We wish you an amazing Christmas(inspiration)

Ho ho ho!

Ahh... Christmas and New Year. Two holidays where delicious food is indispensable, but what to make? So many family members, so many opinions. Let us give you a few ideas.

Entree, Kohlrabi carpaccio

Carpaccio, a true classic, but this time the kohlrabi version! For that one vegetarian aunt, or son who is going through his "I don't want to eat meat" phase after watching that Netflix documentary. This way, everyone eats the same thing, though a little bit different.

Another entree, Dressed cantaloupe melon

Not in the mood to prepare an extensive entree, but want to surprise your family? Take the easy route with this recipe. A few pine nuts, few pieces of cantaloupe and grapefruit and some cress as flavour enhancer. Easy and delicious!

Main course, Roasted onion stew with chestnut mushroom

There is no better symbol for the dark days before Christmas than mushrooms, don't you think? And doesn't it look autumn-y? Frank Fol, a chef from Belgium, prepared this recipe for you. Not too complicated, but full of flavour. We hope you will be able to score a bottle of Super Kroon beer, but even if you don't: we're sure there won't be any shortage of beer during the holidays anyway.

Another main course, Duck with dumplings and red cabbage

Cool, all those vegetarian recipes, but I just purchased a Big Green Egg from the money I was planning to use to go to Bali. No roasted bell-pepper for me, just a nice big piece of meat! In that case, use this amazing duck leg recipe to make your families' mouths water. It is a bit challenging with all those sidedishes, but let's be honest: this year we have plenty of time.

Dessert, Lemon bergamot tart

A delicious sweet and sour combination. Even grandpa, who usually does not have a sweet tooth at all, will dig into a piece of this. Grandma will proudly talk about this creation during her painting club for months on end. If only because of the beautiful cress and specialties to decorate the dish. She might even make it the subject of her next painting.

You guessed it, another dessert, Majii Leaves with chocolate and kumquat

Majii Leaves dipped in Milk and dark chocolate, topped with ground desiccated coconuts and ground liquorice, salads of peeled and soak Majii Leaves in Cointreau liquor serve with kumquat comfit. This is for all colleagues who are dying to know how Majii Leaves taste.

Cocktail, Dutch 1772 & Bean Blossom

Let's toast during New Year's with something else than champagne! Just kidding, why not both? It is a holiday after all! Enjoy this surprising Gin and raspberries cocktail, topped off with your favorite champagne. Also suitable as a playfull aperitif.
